We work together to continually develop and implement sustainable solutions. Through Green Thread, our environmental sustainability platform, we bring innovative and efficient solutions to life. We are passionately focused on reducing the environmental impact within our operations. Here are just a few ways we work to make our campus more environmentally conscious:

Check Local Purchasing: Did you know Dining Services purchases Loffredo locally farmed produce when available? The items change throughout the year depending on seasonality and availability. Currently, dairy and bakery products are also purchased from a local company.

Check Recycling: Dining Services recycles cardboard, plastic and aluminum. We are committed to minimizing our environmental footprint.

Check Trayless Dining: Did you know Dining Services has been trayless since 2008? By dining trayless, you have helped positively impact the waste stream. Dining trayless minimizes food waste, conserves energy and water, and reduces the amount of cleaning chemicals entering the waste stream.

Check Fryer Oil Recycling: One hundred percent of dining services used fryer oil is recycled.

Check Fair Trade Coffee: We offer fair trade coffee selections in Basile Beans.

Check Reusable container program:
  • Hilltop Grill offers a reusable container for to-go orders. 
  • Recycled, non-bleached napkins in single feed dispensers.
  • Java City coffee sleeves are made from 70% post consumer recycled fiber.

Check Refillable coffee program: We provide a 10% discount on coffee drinks in Basile Beans.
